Super Aguri, Honda complete Jerez test

Super Aguri and Honda wrapped up on Thursday a three-day test at the Jerez circuit, where both teams worked alone this week

Anthony Davidson took over from James Rossiter at the wheel of the Super Aguri to complete the team's preparations for the upcoming races.

Davidson spent the morning completing engine mapping work whilst also practicing race starts. In the afternoon he carried out set-up work, completing a total of 78 laps with a best time of 1:20.45.

"We have had perfect weather for testing and it was good to be back at the Jerez circuit again as I have not driven here for a while," said Davidson. "I could feel the improvement made on the car since the winter, which is always positive.

"Today we worked mainly on traction control and some set-up work to give us better performance on long runs. I am happy with the work achieved today and am looking forward to the French Grand Prix next week."

Jenson Button, who missed yesterday's session due to a slight back pain, was in charge of testing duties for Honda, wrapping up the team's programme after 122 laps.

"Today was a productive day," said Button. "I completed 122 laps and every single one of them was useful. We were testing our new aero and mechanical parts and I believe it was a positive test.

"However we need to wait until we get to Magny-Cours next week to see where we stand compared to the other teams."
