Spyker set to run two testers on Fridays

The Spyker team look set to run two third drivers on Friday practice sessions during the 2007 season

"We will probably run third drivers on Friday mornings, possibly two drivers on Friday mornings," explained team boss Colin Kolles during the launch of their new car at Silverstone.

"Two test drivers Friday morning and then race drivers starting from the afternoon."

Formula One teams will be allowed to run non-race drivers during Fridays ahead of each Grand Prix, in the two 90-minute sessions.

Spyker have signed Dutchman Giedo van der Garde and Malaysian Fairuz Fauzy as their third drivers for 2007, but they also have Spaniard Adrian Valles and German Markus Winkelhock as testers.

Kolles suggested all men could have their chance in their respective home Grands Prix, but admitted the team have not decided yet who will drive the third car in the season-opener in Australia.

"We will announce it. It is not decided, to be honest," added Kolles. "But obviously for us Malaysia is an important market, Germany is an important market, Spain is an important market and Holland is an important market. And this is very clearly stated."
