Feature race moved forward

The start of Sunday's feature race at Sentul in Indonesia has been moved forward in a bid to avoid the stormy weather predicted for the afternoon

The circuit was hit with a thunderstorm on Friday evening, and if there is a repeat of the heavy rainfall on Sunday it could make the track unsafe.

A spokesman for A1GP said on Saturday: "The feature race will start half an hour early. If we can do it before the rain comes, then it is for the good."

Two weeks ago in Malaysia the start of the feature race was delayed due to the conditions, and the race had to be started behind the safety car.

Pole-sitter Jonny Reid feels that if the rain comes tomorrow, the same situation will arise.

"If it rains it is going to rain very very heavily," he said. "I can't see us racing in the monsoon conditions we have seen here."

Despite the humid conditions and almost daily storms, the weather is yet to affect a session this weekend, so the teams have had no wet running on the Sentul circuit.

"As we saw at Sepang, we needed to go round slowly for a few laps to dry the track," said Reid. "I don't know what the rule is, but maybe we could have a short practice session if it rains here."
