Carroll to test with Forsythe

Adam Carroll will take part in a two-day test with Champ Car front-runners Forsythe Racing next week.

The GP2 race winner will drive with the team on December 11-12 at the MSR Houston Raceway.

Carroll cut his ties with the Honda F1 team earlier this year so that he could pursue other options, and he attended a handful of Champ Car races towards the end of the year.

"I feel great about having the opportunity to test with a team like Forsythe," he said. "This year I've gotten to know the Champ Car World Series up close and it's definitely where I want to be next year.

"The cars are a lot of fun to drive, it's a good driver's car and you really have to hustle it around. I've been working really hard on my physical training so I can be in top shape."

The Ulsterman was in contention to replace Cristiano da Matta at RuSPORT at the end of this season, but that drive went to Ryan Briscoe.

He was kept in consideration by RuSPORT though, and went to the season finale at Mexico City as a reserve driver to Justin Wilson, who was unsure if he would compete due to injury.

Champ Car Atlantic champion Simon Pagenaud and Indy Pro Series champion Jay Howard will also test with the team.

Howard said: "Forsythe could get anybody they want to test for them and they chose me. That speaks volumes of what they think of me and this is a great opportunity."
