Will Power has expressed his disappointment with Sebastien Bourdais after a collision that took him out of his home race at Surfers Paradise.
Bourdais tried to pass Power into turn three on the street track, but collided with the Australian, forcing the Team Australia driver to retire after leading the early stages of the race.
"I was surprised Sebastien did that because the championship was his already, and he ruined my home race," said Power.
"I'm really disappointed because I was controlling the race and saving fuel, but that always seems to be the corner I get taken out on."
Bourdais said afterwards that he was going all out for the win once he knew the championship was secure, and that Paul Tracy was responsible for shattering Power's pursuit of a home victory.
The three-time champion said: "Paul ruined Will's race when he collided with him coming out of the pits. After that, Will's car wasn't as fast because of the damage.
"I had a really good run out of the second chicane and made a move on Will, but he squeezed me just a little bit and then I don't know what happened.
"As soon as I touched the brakes on the bumps in the middle of the track I locked a wheel and I knew the car wasn't going to stop."
Bourdais continued without damage, but he had dropped down the order, and eventually finished eighth.
