Willis wants to stay in F1

Former Honda technical director Geoff Willis says he wants to stay in Formula One following his exit from the Japanese team this season

Willis parted ways with Honda after a major management reshuffle at the Japanese manufacturer.

The Briton is not allowed to work for another team until the start of next year, but he admits he will look for another job in Formula One.

"I very much want to remain in the sport and I will certainly be having a look around," Willis told this week's Autosport.

"It's not quite the right time to be talking in detail to teams as they are still quite heavily focused on what remains of this year's championship, but at the end of the season there are number of opportunities that are likely to arise."

Willis admitted he was happy to see Honda score their first victory in Hungary, despite having already left the outfit.

"It was one of those races where you could see fairly early on that they were going to win," he said. "They were all absolutely on it and Jenson (Button) never looked like putting a foot wrong. I'm extremely happy for all of them."
