Tasman absorbs Lansvale V8 Supercar team

Australian V8 Supercar team Lansvale Racing in Sydney, NSW, has evolved into Tasman Motorsport with the purchase of half its shares by Porsche Carrera Cup entrant Kevin Murphy. Lansvale founders Steve Reed and Trevor Ashby will remain as directors with Murphy and corporate adviser Tim Miles. Holden Motorsport has agreed to support the venture with 'HMS' engines for its new VY Commodore in 2004.

Jon Matthews, the former general manager of Ford Performance Racing, has joined Tasman and longserving Lansvale crew chief Wally Storey will continue to head the team's raceday operations.
