Mardenborough to make Bathurst 12 Hours debut for Nissan
Nissan factory driver Jann Mardenborough will make his Bathurst 12 Hours debut next month
The runner-up in last year's Japanese Formula 3 Championship will contest the Australian enduro on February 5 with the NISMO International works Nissan squad.
He will share one of the team's two Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3s with Nissan Australian Supercars driver Todd Kelly and 2015 Bathurst winner Florian Strauss.
Mardenborough's debut at Bathurst follows his first full season at the wheel of a GT-R GT3 car since his 2012 British GT Championship and Blancpain Endurance Series campaigns.
He contested the Japanese Super GT Series in parallel to his F3 programme, winning the one race in the GT300 class together with Kazuki Hoshino on the way to fourth position in the points.
The second of the two factory cars will be driven by Katsumasa Chiyo, who was part of the winning 2015 line-up, Alex Buncombe and another member of Nissan's Supercars squad, Michael Caruso.
The two cars will be run by NISMO in conjunction with the RJN Blancpain GT Series squad and the Nissan Motorsports Supercars team.
Kelly is also contesting the 12 Hours for the first time, but does have sportscar experience at Bathurst.
He won the short-lived Bathurst 24 Hours in the second of its two-year existence in 2003 at the wheel of a Holden Monaro shared with Australian touring car legend Peter Brock, Greg Murphy and Jason Bright.
