Senna and Schumacher's Formula Fords for Autosport International

Three-time Formula 1 world champion Ayrton Senna's Van Diemen RF81 will headline a display of Formula Fords to celebrate the series' 50th anniversary at Autosport International

Autosport International

Autosport International is a four-day event motorsport event that includes a two-day trade show for industry professionals and a two-day public show.

The Historic Sports Car Club's feature at the January 12-15 show in Birmingham will also include Formula Fords raced by Nigel Mansell, Michael Schumacher and Emerson Fittipaldi.

Senna's RF81, his first race car in Europe in 1981, will be accompanied by Mansell's Crossle 25 from 1976 and the RF88 driven by Schumacher in 1988.

Other cars include the maiden Formula Ford racer, the Lotus 51, Colchester Racing Developments' 'Magic Merlyn' Mk11A - driven by Fittipaldi and now owned by Jody Scheckter - and Royales designed by F1 engineers Rory Byrne and Pat Symonds.

The Formula Ford collection will accompany displays such as a showcase of Williams F1 cars spanning its history.

BTCC STARS HEADING TO BIRMINGHAM

British Touring Car champions Gordon Shedden, Matt Neal, Colin Turkington and Andrew Jordan will all appear at the show.

Shedden secured his third title in 2016 with Honda, and will also get behind the wheel in the show's Live Action Arena.

Neal, Turkington and Jordan all won races during the season, with Jordan moving to BMW squad WSR in 2017.
