2017 MotoGP calendar: Thailand and Indonesia miss out
MotoGP has announced a 2017 calendar that broadly mirrors this year's schedule, with none of the mooted new additions making the cut
The championship had been working on options in Indonesia and Thailand, but neither has come together in time for next season, when MotoGP will keep its existing 18 venues.
The main change for next year is an extended two-week gap between the Argentinian and United States Grands Prix after travel difficulties in the week between this year's Termas de Rio Hondo and Austin races.
The space between the Mugello and Barcelona rounds is reduced from two weeks to one in exchange.
A greater shake-up is expected for 2018 when new Finnish venue the KymiRing joins the calendar.
The British and Malaysian GPs are marked as 'subject to contract' on the provisional 2017 calendar.
