Hunter Abbott switches to Power Maxed Chevrolet in BTCC
Power Maxed Racing has signed Hunter Abbott to tackle the British Touring Car Championship this season at the wheel of a Chevrolet Cruze
The 35-year-old, who has raced for the previous two seasons in a Rob Austin Racing Audi A4, will test the car before the end of the month. Abbott says that he is aiming for podium finishes this year.
"If you look at the progress that the team has made over the last season, then it is clearly a squad that is going places," said Abbott.
"I will have to get used to front-wheel drive, but we have testing in place so that shouldn't be a problem.
"The engineering expertise at the team is strong, and [team principal] Adam Weaver is very enthusiastic about the project.
"I hope that we can be in the hunt for top five finishes and maybe even a podium."
Power Maxed Racing has yet to reveal details of a second driver.
