Red Bull adds Kari, Sette Camara and Leeds to junior programme
Red Bull has added three new drivers to its junior roster, including two Motopark Formula 3 European Championship racers, after recently confirming its place in Formula 1 into 2016
Niko Kari, Sergio Setta Camara and Luis Leeds will all race under the Red Bull banner next season.
The Red Bull junior programme has been highly successful over the years, promoting such names as Sebastian Vettel, Daniel Ricciardo, Daniil Kvyat, Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz Jr into F1.
SMP Formula 4 champion Kari will step up to European F3 at Motopark under Red Bull's wing after testing extensively for the team in recent weeks.
"I will have a lot to learn in F3, but I will work hard to make the best of this big opportunity," said the 16-year-old Finn.
"It's a great feeling to be invited to be part of the Red Bull Junior Team. I think it will be a fantastic year."
His team-mate Sette Camara also becomes a Red Bull junior as the 17-year-old Brazilian stays on with Motopark for a second year.
The final addition to the Red Bull line-up is 15-year-old Australian Luis Leeds.
The Melbourne teenager came to Red Bull's attention by convincingly winning the opening race of the new Mexican F4 Series on the support programme to this year's Mexican Grand Prix and will compete in MSA Formula with Arden next year.
"To think that I am now part of the Red Bull Junior Team is just incredible and I can't wait for the MSA Formula season to start in Britain," said Leeds.
"I know that the level of competition will be much higher but at least the cars will be the same so I can take what I have learnt here and make use of it."
Red Bull's statement added that its full 2016 junior line-up "will not be announced until the new year".
The programme backed Dean Stoneman in Formula Renault 3.5, Pierre Gasly in GP2 and Callum Ilott in European F3 this season.
