MSA Formula champion Lando Norris moves to BRDC F4 with Carlin

MSA Formula champion Lando Norris will run a dual campaign in Britain and Europe in 2016 after securing a Carlin deal for BRDC Formula 4

The 16-year-old is the first driver to sign up to Carlin's multi-car attack on the revamped BRDC F4 series next year, and will also contest the Formula Renault Eurocup and NEC Series in a separate programme with Josef Kaufmann Racing.

Norris has previous experience of the new BRDC F4 car from contesting the final round of the series' Autumn Trophy last month, winning two of the four races with HHC Motorsport.

"I'm very happy to be with Carlin again for 2016," said Norris, who took eight wins on the way to the inaugural MSA Formula title.

"We had a great season together this year and I learnt a huge amount and had a great time with the team.

"Next year will be a busy season, but it will be nice to have the continuity of working with Carlin and racing on British tracks again in BRDC F4."

Carlin head Trevor Carlin said: "We're delighted Lando is staying with us and that we have the opportunity to work with this exciting young driver.

"Lando did a fantastic job in MSA Formula this year. The progress he made throughout the year was incredible.

"We are building a very strong BRDC F4 team and preparations are already very much under way."

Alongside his BRDC F4 campaign Norris will contest the two FRenault 2.0 series with Josef Kaufmann Racing, with which he has been quick in recent tests.

This deal effectively rules him out of the BRDC F4 title hunt as there are two clashing rounds where the Eurocup will be the priority.

Norris will also travel to New Zealand this winter to take part in the Toyota Racing Series Championship with M2 Competition.
