Andrew Jordan commits to BTCC until end of 2018 with new deal

Andrew Jordan's future in the British Touring Car Championship has been secured after Pirtek signed a new three-year deal with the 2013 champion

Pirtek first backed Jordan when he competed in Junior Rallycross in 2004 at the age of 15. It became title sponsor of the Jordan family-run Eurotech BTCC squad in 2010 and has remained with Jordan through to his current place in the Triple Eight MG team.

The deal means that Jordan - who also competes in rallycross and historic events, and has shown interest in categories outside of touring cars - will remain focused on the BTCC at least until the end of 2018.

"There is tremendous loyalty from both sides of this partnership and I'm extremely proud to extend our contract," said the 26-year-old.

"It allows us to plan ahead with the knowledge that I have a group of proactive, supportive and incredibly enthusiastic sponsors led by Pirtek.

"Pretty much any racing we do we want to have a Pirtek association, but touring cars has to be my main focus.

"You're not going to win the championship every year - it's so competitive, you need a bit of luck. But the target is to win the title again.

"If we can challenge for the championship and be frontrunners, which we have been, then Pirtek is happy."

The deal does not commit Jordan to any single BTCC team, though Pirtek will be involved in discussions over any potential moves.

Pirtek marketing manager Tammie Argent-Peters said: "When we first agreed to sponsor Andrew, he was an exciting but unproven prospect.

"But together, we have seen him grow to become one of the sport's leading and most popular contenders.

"As a direct result of the partnership we have seen our brand recognition sky-rocket and have enjoyed incredible levels of TV and trackside exposure."
