Red Bull Ring Formula Renault 3.5: Dean Stoneman fastest for DAMS
Red Bull-backed Dean Stoneman set the fastest time in Saturday morning Formula Renault 3.5 practice at the drinks company's own track in Austria
The DAMS driver found his stride in the final five minutes of the 50-minute session, working his way down to quickest lap of 1m16.647s.
Friday pacesetter Tio Ellinas took second for Strakka, 0.139 seconds in arrears.
Both Stoneman and Ellinas are striving to break their 2015 win duck this weekend, and last year's GP3 runner-up has experimented with different mental techniques in the build-up to the meeting.
"I've been working with Dr Aki Hintsa so that we can start the weekend one step ahead of the game instead of having to catch up," said Stoneman.
"It has been very interesting, working on the mental preparation, on focus and concentration and I'm sure it is going to make a difference."
Double 2015 winner Matthieu Vaxiviere moved up into third on his final lap, the Lotus man edging out Manor Formula 1 driver Roberto Merhi by 0.005s.
Frenchman Tom Dillmann shaded championship leader Oliver Rowland in fifth and sixth positions.
Rowland's Fortec team-mate and fellow title contender Jazeman Jaafar ended the morning in 18th.
