Barber IndyCar: Scott Dixon leads first practice for Ganassi
Scott Dixon opened this weekend's IndyCar round at Barber Motorsports Park by going fastest in Saturday's morning practice session
The Ganassi racer, who won in Long Beach last weekend, went to the top with a best time of 1m07.7754s, putting him a comfortable 0.2 seconds clear of closest rival Will Power.
Luca Filippi moved himself up to third-fastest late in the session to finish up just ahead of Simon Pagenaud and Sebastien Bourdais, with Helio Castroneves completing an all-Chevrolet top six.
At one point mid-way through the session the top few places were all Honda, with Takuma Sato sitting just ahead of three Andretti cars, but in the end it was Graham Rahal who popped up as the Japanese manufacturer's highest-placed representative.
GP2 veteran Rodolfo Gonzalez, who is making his series debut this weekend, finished up 22nd-fastest, but could console himself by being a full second faster than Dale Coyne Racing team-mate Francesco Dracone.
