St Petersburg Indy Lights: Ed Jones and Carlin win again

Ed Jones and Carlin completed a clean sweep of their Indy Lights debut weekend in St Petersburg with a commanding win in race two on Sunday

Jones backed up his Saturday victory by dominating the second race, and was a full 9.1 seconds clear of the pack when he crossed the finish line.

"The car was great throughout the race," said Jones. "It was the longest race I've ever done but it felt quicker than yesterday's race somehow.

"I just had to focus, keep pushing and not make any mistakes.

"What won the race for us was consistency, making sure I took care of the tyres.

"But it's all come down to the hard work and dedication the team and I have done through the past few months.

"The preparation for this race was massive; we did so much work so that when we got out on the track, we would be fast straight away."

The podium was a perfect copy of Saturday's, with Jack Harvey once again finishing second ahead of Spencer Pigot, who spent most of the race fending off Max Chilton after the Brit lost some early ground to the rolling start.

Chilton wasn't alone in his frustration: Matthew Brabham also made up some early places, but then found himself unable to pass Scott Hargrove and spent the final portion of the race staring at the Canadian's rear wing.

Rookie RC Enerson was the only non-finisher when his car stopped early on with what appeared to be a mechanical problem.
