Wilson gets Andretti seat for IndyCar's pair of Indianapolis races

Andretti Autosport will run an additional car for Justin Wilson at IndyCar's two Indianapolis races this season

The British driver was left on the sidelines for 2015 after spending the past three years with Dale Coyne Racing, and he will return to action for the Indianapolis road course race and the Indy 500 in May with Andretti.

Wilson will drive the team's No.25 entry which will be driven by Simona de Silverstro .

"This is a fantastic opportunity for me and it should be a strong programme," said Wilson.

"I'm looking forward to continuing my relationship with Honda and working with the team.

"Thank you to Michael [Andretti] for bringing me on board and giving me this great opportunity.

"I know that the team has everything in place to do well, and I'm really confident about what the group is capable of this year."

Andretti added that a deal with Wilson had been on the team's radar in the past.

"We are so happy to be able to confirm Justin has joined our programme for both races at Indianapolis," he said.

"Having Justin on the team has been something we've been looking at for quite some time, so we're excited to finally make it happen.

"Adding him to the roster for the Indy races is definitely going to be something special as we work to defend our 2014 victory [with Ryan Hunter-Reay in the '500]."

Wilson has spent the past 11 years in Champ Car and IndyCar, picking up seven wins and 26 podiums along the way. He finished 15th in the standings last year.
