New BTCC Honda to launch on series media day on March 24

Honda will reveal its 2015 British Touring Car Championship challenger at the series media day later this month, and has retained champions Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden for another year

The Team Dynamics-run factory entry is set to confirm the return to a hatchback Civic after a year with the estate version of the car, with the new challenger to be unveiled at Donington Park on March 24.

Three-time champion Neal and Shedden return for a sixth successive year as team-mates to try and deliver the Japanese marque's first BTCC crown since Shedden's 2012 triumph.

"We've shown over the past few seasons that we're never afraid to push back the boundaries and come up with something different and new that really engages the fans," said Shedden.

"The Civic Tourer was fantastic for us and created history in many ways, and I'm sure what we have planned for this year will generate a bigger buzz still.

"The goal remains the same - to try to win the championship."

Neal finished eighth in the points last season, his worst full-season result since he ran as an independent in the Super Touring era, and said he was determined to make amends with the new Honda.

"The anticipation surrounding Honda's new car for 2015 is immense and we can't wait to show it off," he added.

"I'm confident it will be a step forward in every area and a very potent weapon.

"We had a difficult season at times in 2014, but that only gives us renewed motivation to climb back to the top.

"We still have massive self-belief in our ability to build and run a front-running touring car, and we are ready to put up one hell of a fight."
