Josh Cook to drive Power Maxed Chevrolet Cruze in BTCC graduation

Renault Clio Cup UK runner-up Josh Cook will race a Power Maxed Racing-run Chevrolet Cruze in his maiden year in the British Touring Car Championship

The 23-year-old announced his intention to graduate to the BTCC last year as part of the Racing for Heroes initiative, the motorsport fundraising partner of Help for Heroes.

Cook, who missed out on the 2014 Clio title to fellow BTCC graduate Mike Bushell, will partner Dave Newsham at PMR in a second Cruze saloon.

"The realisation that I will be lining up on the BTCC grid has not yet sunk in," said Cook.

"I cannot wait to get behind the wheel of the Chevrolet Cruze and battle it out, although I am under no illusions of the challenge that lies ahead."

PMR announced it had secured a second TOCA BTCC Licence on Monday, and Cook's confirmation continues the sweeping revamp of the set-up previously run by Chris Stockton's BTC Racing concern.

"I'm excited to have Josh on board, he's excelled throughout his career and it's great to be helping him realise his dream and his potential of racing in the BTCC," added new team principal Adam Weaver.

"Josh will add a good dose of youth and enthusiasm to the team and I'm sure both he and Dave will keep each other on their toes and spur each other on."

The other two drivers linked to Racing for Heroes with confirmed drives on the TOCA package in 2015 are Porsche Carrera Cup GB driver Josh Files and MSA Formula competitor Jessica Hawkins.
