Sam Tordoff to combine BTCC and ELMS duties in 2015
Sam Tordoff will dovetail his 2015 British Touring Car Championship campaign with an assault on the European Le Mans Series
The 25-year-old, who has swapped from Triple Eight to West Surrey Racing for his third full season in the BTCC, will race a Ferrari 458 Italia for the British JMW Motorsport in the five-round ELMS.
He will share the GTE car with George Richardson, who is staying with the team for a second season, and Porsche Carrera Cup GB graduate Rob Smith.
Tordoff said: "I have wanted to get into GT racing now for a number of years, and this season the stars have aligned and it's finally possible!
"It is important for me to try and break the mould to show that I am not just a touring car driver."
Richardson, who finished third in GTE with JMW in last year's ELMS, said he believed JMW's line-up made them "championship contenders" in 2015.
Tordoff and Smith got their first experience of JMW's Ferrari at Estoril at the end of last year.
Tordoff's WSR team-mate Andy Priaulx, who completed the first test of his BTCC return last week, is also dovetailing his tin-top programme with an ELMS drive.
The three-time world champion will race a factory-backed, Marc VDS-run BMW Z4 GTE.
Tordoff will have to miss the Paul Ricard ELMS round in September, which clashes with the Rockingham BTCC round.
