First qualifying: Magnussen takes provisional pole

Jan Magnussen has put his Panoz LMP-1 Roadster on provisional pole for round 10 of the ALMS at Laguna Seca this weekend

The Dane, sharing with David Brabhamm set a new lap record of 1m15.219s around the California circuit, with the Audi R8 of Allan McNish/Rinaldo Capello just over a tenth of a second behind in second.

In the GTS class Ron Fellows was quickest, with a lap of 1m23.926s and Sascha Maassen was quickest in the GT class with a lap of 1m27.411s

Final qualifying kicks off at 22:10 BST Saturday evening.
