Bernd Schneider to enter Gulf, Dubai enduros with Black Falcon

DTM legend Bernd Schneider will return to the Black Falcon Mercedes team in a bid to repeat his 2013 triumphs at the Gulf 12 Hours and Dubai 24 Hours enduros

Schneider will race the lead Black Falcon Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG (pictured above) at next month's Gulf 12 Hours in Abu Dhabi on December 13 together with his winning team-mates from 2013, Jeroen Bleekemolen and Khaled Al Qubaisi.

The 50-year-old will then contest the Dubai enduro on January 9/10 with the same team-mates and a fourth driver in Merc regular Andreas Simonsen, winner of the Pro-Am division in the 2013 FIA GT Series.

Schneider, who says he races only for fun these days, raced with Black Falcon in Dubai this year, took part in the Bathurst 12 Hours with the Erebus Mercedes team and competed in three rounds of the Blancpain Endurance Series with HTP Motorsport.

He has so far this year failed to repeat any of his 2013 victories in the big endurance races for GT3 machinery.

Black Falcon will run two cars in both Middle East events: Hubert Haupt, Abdulaziz Al Faisal and Richard Muscat will race the second Merc in Abu Dhabi; and Haupt and Al Faisal are likely to be joined by Britons Oliver Webb and Adam Christodoulou for the 24-hour race.
