Aston Martin set to return to United SportsCar Championship in 2015

Aston Martin Racing is set for a return to the Tudor United SportsCar Championship in 2015

AMR had a GT Le Mans class entry for the four-race 'series within a series' North American Endurance Cup this season, but withdrew citing an unfair Adjustment of Performance after the season-opening Daytona 24 Hours in January.

Now it is working with regular World Endurance Championship driver Paul Dalla Lana to field a Aston Martin Vantage GTE in the NAEC enduros at Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen and Road Atlanta next year.

AMR boss John Gaw said: "Paul wants to do it, so we can probably say we will definitely have one car in the NAEC events next year."

Canadian Dalla Lana, who was a race winner in the GT class of the Grand-Am series in 2011-12, added: "I want maintain a presence in North America and the NAEC is made up of great events.

"We want to do it on the condition that we can avoid the debacle of this year's Daytona 24 Hours."

It is likely that cars will have to run in Le Mans 24 Hours aero configuration at Daytona next year.

"That would be perfect because the Automobile Club de l'Ouest have done a good job in balancing the cars at Le Mans," Gaw said.
