2007 British Rallycross champion O'Donovan plans 2015 World RX runs

Ollie O'Donovan, the 2007 British Rallycross champion, will contested selected rounds of the World Rallycross Championship next season

The Irishman returned to the sport this year and raced at the French round of the world series at Loheac, but suffered differential problems throughout the event.

"I will definitely do some of the world championship rounds based in Europe next year," said O'Donovan.

"I raced in Loheac this year and that was epic, so I will go back there for sure. I can't get over how good it was, it was a pity we had diff issues but we made every start and I really want to do it again.

"Of course, I can't not race at the British round of World RX at Lydden next year, and I've never been to Holjes [Sweden] or Hell [Norway]. I reckon they look really good.

"People say they are difficult circuits to learn but I like difficult circuits, I revel in them. I've never been to Holjes so I want to go and see what all the fuss is about."

O'Donovan won two rounds of the British championship this season in his ex-Kevin Procter European championship event winning Ford Focus and intends to contest the full 2015 calendar alongside his world series outings.

"I want to do the British championship all the way through next season," he said.

"It was a pity we didn't attack it a bit earlier this year or we might have given Julian [Godfrey] a bit of work to do.

"I really feel that after the last two events we did at Croft and Lydden that we can stay up with Julian at the front."
