Tom Dillmann to drive for Caterham in GP2, replacing Alexander Rossi

Tom Dillmann will replace Alexander Rossi at the Caterham GP2 team following the American's decision to part ways with the Leafield-based squad

Rossi announced on Wednesday that he would no longer be part of the team following the change of ownership at the start of the month.

Caterham has announced Dillmann will race with the team in the remaining six rounds of the season, partnering Rio Haryanto.

"There has been a lot of well publicised change at Caterham during the last few weeks, but we are very pleased to remain part of Caterham Group, alongside Caterham Moto Racing Team and fly the Caterham motorsport flag in our respective Series," said team boss Mia Sharizman.

"We wish Alexander all the best for the future, but now welcome Tom to our team and have confidence that he can help us gain top results and boost our championship position."

French driver Dillmann returns to GP2 after having competed in the two Barcelona races with Arden.

The 25-year-old finished 10th in the championship with Russian Time last year, but did not secure a seat for the start of the season.

"I am really happy to be back in the GP2 Series with Caterham," he said.

"Driving for a successful team means that we should be able to achieve good results together and I hope that these two race weekends will help me find a GP2 seat for the rest of the season."
