Daytona NASCAR: Rain postpones race to Sunday

Daytona NASCAR rain

This weekend's 400-mile Daytona NASCAR Sprint Cup race has been postponed until Sunday due to rain.

The race was scheduled for a Saturday night slot and due to get underway just before 8pm local time, but with heavy rain at Daytona and more forecast, the decision was ultimately taken to delay the event.

The rescheduling means it will no longer be a night race, with a new start time of 11am local time on Sunday - although rain is forecast on the revised date as well.

Friday's qualifying session was also affected by the weather, as rain halted the session early and left David Gilliland on a shock pole.
