AmD to run latest spec front-end in Croft BTCC round

British Touring Car squad AmD Tuning will run the latest specification front-end on its Ford Focus from Croft this weekend.

Shaun Hollamby's team bought an ex-Motorbase Focus over the winter for its graduation to NGTC this season.

The car had run in 2013 specification, but Dave Newsham's accident last time out at Oulton Park has given the team an opportunity to upgrade to the current Motorbase front.

"We decided not to fit the 2014 upgrades at the start of the year as we wanted to see what impact they had," said Hollamby.

"Our plan was to update the car during the summer break, but following the accident at Oulton Park, it made sense to do it now and debut the revised front end at Croft.

"It'll be interesting to see what impact the update has, as we'll now be able to measure ourselves more directly with the guys at Motorbase.

"Even though I'm not sure Croft will be the strongest circuit for our car, I'm confident that Dave will be able to bring home some points before the summer break."

Newsham currently lies 17th in the BTCC standings after a difficult start to the season, despite showing flashes of strong race pace.
