Penske fined after Juan Pablo Montoya ran underweight in Detroit

Juan Pablo Montoya, Penske, Detroit IndyCar 2014

Penske has been fined $5000 after Juan Pablo Montoya's car was found to be underweight after qualifying for the first of last weekend's two IndyCar races in Detroit.

The punishment, which an IndyCar statement said was based on a violation of Rule 4.3.1.1.1 (car weight), was the second associated with the Colombian's car last weekend.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Chevrolet had been docked 10 manufacturer points for an unapproved engine change on Montoya's Dallara.

Meanwhile, the series also confirmed that it has put Don Oldenburg, crew chief for Simon Pagenaud, on probation until the start of August for a violation of IndyCar's social media policy.
