Silverstone ELMS: Harry Tincknell claims pole for season-opener
Sportscar newcomer Harry Tincknell claimed pole position for the opening round of the European Le Mans Series at Silverstone on his prototype debut
The Briton took the pole with a lap of 1m47.702s aboard the Jota Sport Zytek-Nissan Z11SN.
That compared with second-placed Franck Mailleux's best of 1m48.854s in the Race Performance team's ORECA-Judd/BMW 03.
Third place went to Karun Chandhok with a time a time less than a tenth behind.
Ferrari factory driver Andrea Bertolini ended up fastest in GTE aboard his SMP Racing-run 458 Italia with a 1m52.970s.
Second place was taken by Daniel Zampieri in the British JMW Ferrari on a time six tenths behind.
Team Ukraine squad took qualifying honours in the GTC class for GT3 machinery with Alessandro Pierguidi at the wheel of its Ferrari 458 Italia.
