Formula 2 race winner Markus Pommer will compete in this year's Auto GP series with reigning champion team Super Nova.
The German impressed the Norfolk squad in last week's test at Valencia.
Super Nova took Vittorio Ghirelli and Adrian Quaife-Hobbs to the last two Auto GP drivers' titles.
"It's a pleasure to drive for Super Nova, a team that has had great success over the years and knows everything there is about the Auto GP car," said Pommer.
"At the test I felt immediately comfortable in the team and really enjoyed driving the car - it has good downforce and plenty of power, suiting my driving style."
Pommer's move marks his return to single-seaters, having spent last season in the Porsche Supercup. In addition to his success in F2, Pommer claimed third in his maiden season of German Formula 3 in 2009.
Super Nova team manager John Sears expressed satisfaction with his new signing, who joins Michela Cerruti in the team's line-up.
"I have been tracking Markus for some time now and following the test in Valencia he showed the potential to fight at the front in Auto GP this year," said Sears.
"We are very happy to have found an agreement for him to be part of our team and I am confident that we will achieve excellent results together.
"We covered an extensive test programme over two days, including long runs and pitstops, so he is well prepared for the season opener in Marrakech."
