Bahrain GP: F1 drivers warned over track limits

Formula 1 drivers have been warned not to abuse the exit of Turn 4 at the Sakhir circuit following the removal of the kerb on Friday night.
As AUTOSPORT revealed earlier, following complaints from drivers, the FIA agreed to get rid of the kerbing following incidents that resulted in Kimi Raikkonen and Pastor Maldonado being launched in to the air in practice.
Amid fears that some drivers could now seek to gain an advantage by running across this area, the FIA has written to the teams to make it clear that it will strictly enforce the track limits rules for qualifying and the race.
In a note issued by F1 race director Charlie Whiting on Saturday, he said: "As past experience has shown that advantages can be gained by leaving the track under certain circumstances on the exit of this corner, I would like to remind you that the regulations governing track limits will be rigidly enforced."
