Trulli warns of start danger

Jarno Trulli believes that the changes to the Monza circuit will make the start of tomorrow's Italian Grand Prix the most dangerous of the season

The new Rettifilio chicane replaces the old double-chicane that caused so many first lap shunts over the years. However, many drivers believe that the revised, tighter, corner will cause even more trouble.

"I am hoping to make a good start tomorrow as this race has the most dangerous start of the F1 season," Trulli said.

"It is very hard because you come at it at very high speed with low downforce and a heavy fuel load and the corner is very tight and very slow."

Trulli qualified in sixth position despite a fraught morning session in which a hydraulic pump problem left him only 12th fastest.

"The team did a great job to find the problem," said the Italian.

"Everything worked out well and the car was nicely balanced. We have some weaknesses but overall the result is very positive.

"We are ahead of Williams and only two-tenths behind McLaren which shows we worked very well today."
