Jenson Button says that if his rivals are not happy with the current generation of Formula 1 cars they should race something else.
While some drivers do not like the sound and fuel-saving nature of the 2014 cars, Button has made it clear that nobody is forcing them to stay in F1.
And if drivers are so unhappy with matters, then Button suggests they should switch to another category.
"Go and race something else if you are not happy," said Button in the wake of strong criticism from Sebastian Vettel on the noise of the new engines.
"As drivers we don't have an opinion of where the cars are in terms of sound and feel.
"When you cross the finish line first you have won a grand prix. You don't care what it sounds like or what it looks like.
"You have beaten the best in the world and that is all you care about."
Not all drivers are unhappy with the changes though, as many believe that the new technology provides a bigger challenge in 2014.
Nico Rosberg said of the new rules: "I think it has been all good for F1.
"It has changed the pecking order around, which is definitely good for everybody.
"It was the same guy winning last year so it needed change. The cars are great to drive, which is fine, so I think it is all good."
