F1 test driver Felipe Nasr stays on with Carlin for 2014 GP2 season

Nasr stays on with Carlin for 2014

Williams Formula 1 test driver Felipe Nasr will stay with Carlin for his third season in the GP2 series.

The Brazilian, who finished fourth in the championship in 2013 after switching from DAMS to Carlin for that campaign, will combine his GP2 efforts with five free practice outings for Williams over the course of the F1 season.

"I'm really happy to be with Carlin this year," said the 21-year-old. "Although we missed out on the championship last year through some bad luck and some difficult races, overall the season was very positive for us.

"This year I want to go one better and push hard to win the championship.

"With a strong team like Carlin, and new rules in regards to the tyres I think we can do this."

Team boss Trevor Carlin added: "Everyone at Carlin loves working with Felipe - he is a passionate driver, always works hard with his engineer and is a fighter when he races.

"He had an unlucky second half to his year in 2013 but I think he will be one to watch this season."

Pre-season GP2 testing kicks off next week in Abu Dhabi, where Nasr will be joined by new team-mate Julian Leal.
