Carlin to sit out Formula Renault 3.5 test at Aragon
Top British team Carlin has elected to skip this week's three-day Formula Renault 3.5 test at Motorland Aragon
Carlin is the only one of the series' 13 teams to miss the three days of running, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, at the Spanish circuit.
The team is one of three in FR3.5 not to have any drivers signed for the 2014 campaign.
Team boss Trevor Carlin said: "We're only interested in building a strong and healthy team for the 2014 FR3.5 season, and we're still in the process of considering our options."
Carlin has been ever-present in the series since entering in 2003, when it was called World Series by Nissan.
Since then, it has taken 30 race wins and carried Mikhail Aleshin and Robert Wickens to the 2010 and '11 titles respectively.
Other race winners with Carlin include Sebastian Vettel, Kevin Magnussen, Jean-Eric Vergne, Jaime Alguersuari, Will Power and Tiago Monteiro.
Former Carlin driver Antonio Felix da Costa, who raced with the team in GP3 and Formula 3, said on Twitter: "Sad to see that Carlin isn't taking part in the first [FR3.5] tests. Probably the best team I have ever raced for.
"And it's not just a team. Trevor Carlin is a man who gets opportunities for the talented ones and I wouldn't be where I am today if not for him."
Meanwhile, the AVF team has announced it has signed Swiss Zoel Amberg for the 2014 season.
