British Touring Car Championship rookie Tom Ingram is targeting top-10 finishes after his first run in an NGTC car at Silverstone.
The reigning Ginetta GT Supercup champion will race a Speedworks Toyota Avensis this season and drove the car for the first time on the Silverstone National circuit on Friday.
Although the test was wet, the KX Akademy graduate was happy with his progress in the front-wheel-drive machine.
"I really like it and I'm really enjoying it," the 20-year-old told AUTOSPORT.
"It's a bit of a jump, getting my head around how the turbo kicks in, but we'll be fine.
"We've made a few set-up changes and overall the car is well-balanced. You can drive it quite hard."
Ingram believes he can challenge for points early on in his debut season.
"For the first half year I realise it'll be a learning curve," he added. "With the grid we've got, if we can get into the top 10 that'll be a good start.
"I already feel very much at home with the team. It's a very friendly atmosphere."
