ERC postpones Sibiu Rally until October due to snowfall

The European Rally Championship has postponed its planned third round in Romania due to the level of snowfall.
The Sibiu Rally had been set to form the final part of the ERC's three-event 'Ice Master' mini-series on February 27-March 1.
But organisers cited "exceptional heavy snowfall and forecasts of more severe weather" as reasons for postponing the event until October 9-11 this year.
"It was determined that the safety of competitors, spectators and the general public would be compromised if the rally went ahead as planned," said an ERC statement.
"This particularly concerns access roads no longer being passable and the resources of emergency and rescue services becoming overstretched."
The second round of the 2014 ERC takes place in Latvia this weekend.
Robert Kubica won the season-opening Janner Rally at the start of the year.
