Andrea Roda will continue at Virtuosi UK Racing for a second season of Auto GP.
The Italian is the first driver to sign up for the 2014 series.
Team director Andy Roche is confident Roda will make further progress this year.
"Having re-signed Roda is a great opportunity," he said.
"We showed that we can get good results together and I'm sure that he'll be showing all his full potential this year."
Roda's best results in 2013 were two fourth places, contributing to his 12th position in the drivers' standings.
His best opportunity of the season came in Marrakech, where he was disputing the lead of the reversed-grid race with compatriot Antonio Spavone when the pair clashed wheels, sending Spavone into the barriers.
Roda was awarded a drive-through penalty, a decision officials later admitted was wrong and apologised for.
The 23-year-old is the son of GT racer Gianluca Roda and older brother of Italian Formula Abarth race winner Giorgio.
