Carlos Huertas will join Panther Racing for Friday's Chevrolet manufacturer IndyCar test at Sebring.
The outing will be Huertas' first experience with an IndyCar, and the 22-year-old Colombian said that he is looking forward to the opportunity.
"This is an awesome opportunity for me, and Panther Racing is a quality team." Huertas said.
"It's been good to get to know the crew, and we've been working hard to prepare for Friday. I'm grateful for the opportunity, and ready to get out on track."
Panther is yet to finalise its driver for the upcoming season, but team principal John Barnes hinted that the test was a chance for Huertas to stake a claim for the seat.
"Carlos is a driver with a lot of potential," Barnes said. "He's been impressive racing in World Series by Renault over the past couple of years.
"We're looking forward to getting Carlos behind the wheel and seeing what he can do."
Huertas finished 14th in last year's Formula Renault 3.5 standings, collecting his first career win at Aragon along the way.
