Austin BTCC team's future secured with new backer

Rob Austin's British Touring Car future has been secured after signing a new title sponsor

The Rockingham race winner lost main 2013 sponsor WIX filters shortly before Christmas but has now signed a two-year deal with fuel additive company Fast Exocet.

After sponsoring Jake Hill's car at the Brands Hatch finale, Exocet will step up its support for 2014. Full branding will be on one of the team's Audi A4 and appear on the second entry.

Austin, who has also attracted further support from other companies, said: "Fast Exocet's input is going to play a vital role in our results in 2014 as we seek to challenge for podiums and race wins together at every BTCC event.

"It's fair to say that the commitment shown by these companies puts us not only on the BTCC grid but also enables us to prepare better than ever before for an upcoming season."

Austin is also offering shares in his squad to the public.

Fans will be able to own a small part of the team - and get a tax rebate - and get a photo or message on the roof of one of the team's Audis.
