Toro Rosso to use Vergne and Kvyat in F1 Bahrain tyre test

Daniil Kvyat F1 2014

The Toro Rosso team will use its 2014 race drivers Jean-Eric Vergne and Daniil Kvyat in the upcoming Formula 1 tyre test in Bahrain.

Pirelli was given dispensation to run a three-day test at the Sakhir circuit, and Red Bull, Ferrari, Toro Rosso and Mercedes will be in action.

Toro Rosso said Vergne will drive on the first day and a half, before Russian Kvyat takes over for the remainder of the test. They will be using this year's STR8 car.

The test will run from December 17-19.

GP3 champion Kvyat will make his grand prix debut next year, replacing Red Bull-bound Daniel Ricciardo alongside Vergne.

Bahrain test line-up:

Team Drivers
Red Bull Sebastien Buemi
Mercedes Lewis Hamilton/Nico Rosberg*
Ferrari Pedro de la Rosa/Jules Bianchi
