European Formula 3 Open contender Alexander Toril is planning a step up to the FIA F3 European Championship in 2014.
The 17-year-old Spaniard tested the ThreeBond/Nissan-powered Dallara of T-Sport for two days at Silverstone earlier this week, and is expected to run again with the team at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya next week.
Toril, who was fifth in the F3 Open rankings this season with four podium finishes to his credit, lapped a respectable distance from Carlin's Nicholas Latifi and Double R Racing's Kevin Korjus, who were both also testing with the outgoing old-spec engines.
T-Sport boss Russell Eacott said: "He did a pretty good job - certainly very impressive for one of such a young age."
The team also put more mileage on the new-rules engine from Neil Brown Engineering, with regular driver Spike Goddard at the wheel.
The Australian will once again join Toril at next week's Barcelona test, while the following week at Valencia T-Sport will run Goddard and 2013 F3 podium finisher Alexander Sims.
