Rising British single-seater star Oliver Rowland will test for leading Formula Renault 3.5 squad Fortec in Spain this week, ahead of a possible graduation to the category in 2014.
Rowland narrowly missed out on the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup title this year, after clashing with eventual champion Pierre Gasly in the final round showdown at Barcelona.
Now the Racing Steps Foundation that supports the 21-year-old Briton's career has decided he will rejoin the Fortec squad that ran him to second in Formula Renault UK in 2011 for three days of FR3.5 testing at Aragon.
RSF coordinator Derek Walters said: "Rowland will do Formula Renault 3.5 testing with Fortec at Aragon this week and we'll make a decision on what he does next post-test."
Fortec has run Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup graduates in each of the past two seasons, winning the 2012 title with Robin Frijns and running McLaren junior driver Stoffel Vandoorne to second this season.
Rowland, who has spent the past three seasons racing in Formula Renault 2.0, recently topped the second day of post-season GP3 testing in Abu Dhabi for Manor.
