US GP: Caterham's Charles Pic gets gearbox penalty

Charles Pic has been hit with a five-place grid penalty for Sunday's United States Grand Prix.
The Caterham team has been forced to break the seal on the Frenchman's gearbox to change a part after encountering problems during Saturday morning's free practice session.
Each gearbox must be used for five consecutive events, although drivers retiring from the previous race are allowed a 'free' change, but the penalty can also be triggered if parts within the gearbox are changed.
It is the first time Pic has been hit with a grid penalty for a gearbox violation this season, although he was given a 10-place grid penalty for the Japanese GP after picking up three reprimands for driving offences.
