British Touring Car Championship star Colin Turkington tested a Team Hard Volkswagen Passat at Silverstone this week as he assesses his options for 2014.
The 2009 BTCC champion returned to the series this year and finished fifth driving one of WSR's new NGTC BMWs.
Remaining with the WSR squad is still a possibility for the 31-year-old, but Turkington has yet to sign a deal.
"I was just really assessing my options for next year," Turkington told AUTOSPORT after driving the Passat. "And getting a run in a front-wheel-drive NGTC car to see the strengths and weaknesses compared to rear-wheel-drive [like WSR's BMW].
"The feeling wasn't that drastically different, so I adapted to the car pretty quickly."
Turkington was impressed with the Passat, which took three podiums in 2013 in the hands of Tom Onslow-Cole.
"It's a pretty good package, as Tom was able to show a couple of times this year, and it has potential," he added.
"It had no real vices."
