M-Sport's pre-Rally GB test was delayed on Monday when its truck crashed and got stuck on its side in the Clocaenog forest.
The truck suffered a similar fate to that of the factory Subaru team in 2007 (pictured), slipping off the road and requiring a crane to get it upright and back on the track.
WRC 2 frontrunner Elfyn Evans's Fiesta R5 was in the back of the truck at the time, but was undamaged - as was the truck - in the incident.
M-Sport team principal Malcolm Wilson said: "The guys in the truck had moved to the side of the road to try to avoid scratching the side on some low branches, but the road was a bit softer than they thought and it slipped down.
"We lost a couple of hours or so while the crane lifted the truck out. The guys were testing from about 3pm."
Of more concern to Wilson was Evgeny Novikov's fourth successive testing shunt. The Russian suffered a high-speed crash while testing in Greystoke last week.
