McLaren Formula 1 test driver Oliver Turvey will race one of the marque's MP4-12C GT3 contenders at the FIA GT Series finale in Azerbaijan later this month.
Turvey, a race winner in the European Le Mans Series with the Jota Zytek squad this year, will drive one of two MP4-12Cs entered for the street event in the capital city of Baku by Blancpain Endurance Series regular Molitor Racing Service.
The Briton will share the lead MRS McLaren in the two one-hour races on November 24 with ex-Formula 2 champion Andy Soucek, who raced an MP4-12C for ART Grand Prix in Blancpain this year.
Turvey, who contested three Blancpain rounds in a factory-run MP4-12C in the car's development year in 2011 but has not driven one since, said: "MRS had a seat available and contacted McLaren, and [company boss] Martin Whitmarsh put my name forward.
"I've been trying to get back in an MP4-12C for the past couple of years, so I am looking forward to getting out there in what looks like a competitive field."
The second MRS McLaren will run in the Pro-Am class. Azerbaijan-based Canadian Mark Thomas will drive the car alongside a yet-to-be-announced team-mate.
