FR3.5 testing: Marlon Stockinger fastest for Lotus amid red flags

A wet start to the day and a total of 10 red flags disrupted teams' running as many assessed new drivers and others worked on performance with experienced FR3.5 contenders.

Stockinger's 1m30.218s lap midway through the afternoon put him a comfortable seven tenths of a second ahead of Zoel Amberg, whose Arden Caterham car edged out its season-long occupant Antonio Felix da Costa, driving for Carlin this time.

Sauber Formula 1 contender Sergey Sirotkin was fourth for ISR, with European Formula 3 champion Raffaele Marciello fifth quickest as he tried out with Tech 1 following Tuesday's DAMS outing.

Caterham protege Will Stevens had emerged fastest from the drying morning session for P1 by Strakka, ahead of Sirotkin and Tuesday pacesetter Carlos Sainz Jr.
