Level 5 adds Peter Dumbreck and Jonny Kane for Petit Le Mans

Level 5 HPD, Petit Le Mans 2013

Jonny Kane and Peter Dumbreck will join Level 5 Motorsports for this weekend's Petit Le Mans to bolster Scott Tucker's American Le Mans Series LMP2 title chances.

Tucker holds a six-point class lead over Extreme Speed's Scott Sharp going into the last ever ALMS round.

While Tucker will line up with regular Level 5 drivers Ryan Briscoe and Mario Franchitti in the #551 car, the team has decided to bolster the driver line-up in its second car to strengthen its chances.

Kane and Dumbreck will therefore join Guy Cosmo in the #552 HPD.

Team manager David Stone said the duo had been selected because of their HPD experience.

Kane took two Le Mans 24 Hours class wins for HPD during his years with Strakka, while Dumbreck raced JRM's HPD in the 2012 World Endurance Championship.

"They already have experience in HPDs, including Jonny, who won at Le Mans in a very similar car, so that will be beneficial," said Stone.

"We needed drivers who were quick, but also tend to stay out of trouble and take good care of the cars.

"They both generally do that, so we felt that they are the best fit to help support support us for Road Atlanta."
